I’ve got a lot of those on every boat I’ve had.
fiberglass flexes, gel coat not so much.
hard bumps into the dock, a floating log, trolling motors, etc.
I personally don’t let ‘em bother me

Greetings,
in my 06 Champ 198, Ive been working on engine height for best results.
Yamaha SHO 225
my best at 3.5 is 68mph, at 5450 RPMs.
holeshot is awesome.
but general response is...
Interesting- I was hoping one could just stick a plastic wedge and pop them off. The inside of the glass seems dirty…
great guess! I did go up 1/4” and lost 1mph, and it felt squirrelly, so dropping it back down to 3.5.
next move is to put the Worked Tempest 25, on and see what happens with that one.
Ventura County, I fish Casitas
Yes, been using the AT for a year or so now.
trailer is a Coastline, out of Texas. All aluminum except for the galvanized axles, with torsion bar suspension. It is very nice, thank you,!
Is the glass removable? If so how? Mine are a little dirty inside, and Id like to clean with anti-fogging cleaner. Not that Ive ever seen them fogged before
thankx
I raised it 1”, to 3.5”. I might go another 1/2” and see what happens- I also might change out the prop, from the Fury, to a worked Tempest 25, that came with the boat…
Ok- definitely an improvement!
hole shot is night and day better- I mean it just leaps-
got to 68 mph, at 5450 rpm, and over 20 psi water pump-
probably good enuff for me now,
until I flash it of...
lol- flash it!
I cranked it up to 3.5” we’ll see what kind of numbers I get
Going tomorrow to test
previous top speed was about 62, I think the rpm’s were 5300, and prop is a mercury FURY 25P 3 blade
Hi guys,
I just measured and my prop shaft Id 4-1/4 below pad-
anyone know if this sounds like a good starting point? I was thinking of moving it up to 3-1/2 to start.
thanks- yes the tinkering part is kinda fun for us old retired farts- I like how a 18 year old boat can seem like a new one…
Finally got her on the water, but unfortunately the weather was terrible. Wind and rain all day.
bad news first:
1) something is leaking into the bilge, I had to run the bilge pumps every half...
yes sir, I’ve read all that-
I was only suggesting a quick and easy version that takes about 30 seconds to complete
No mention of why for the TM pan
the DP is the Lithium/AGM only model
i I hope to have a top speed for you tomorrow? Prev owner claimed 72 mph
Ionic 50’s, they’ll go almost 3 days… I fish a soft lake

I just cut a 4 or 5 inch piece of garden drip line and stuck it in the hole- a little hard to get it in, but it went, then just turn it till it goes under the lip of the hatch-
no idea if it...

well this is a pain in the real end- anyways here he is in stripped mode- now she is fully rigged, but in my garage
if I had a clue as how to “resize” pictures I’d show you plenty- but me and my iPhone don’t quite know how to do that
well that was an easy answer, thank you. I guess mine is a DC
How can one know what designation their 198 is. Ithought mine was an Elite, but now after seeing so many different letter combinations, I just dont know
