Water mid 80's midday. A bit cooler in a.m. It's a bit cooler up the river from Walters Bridge which is closest ramp near White Pine. Cooler water and current in the river.

Jig bite is picking up and T-rigged creature baits and C-rigged stickbaits have been producing. Shakey head trick worms will get you bit.

Very early and late a topwater bite can be had. Hot and muggy but you probably used to that down in GA.

20-35ft for the most part. Deep cranks (6XD/10XD, 3/4oz Hot Lips, Mann's 30+), spoons, larger swimbaits on heavy heads, etc....

McKee's Outdoors is in Maryville and Big Fish outfitters is in Lenoir City. Both are great shops but a long drive from White Pine. About an hour's drive.

Tom's in Morristown and Bucks N Bass in Dandridge are both 15 mins. from White Pine. Both are local to area you are visiting.

When you planning to be here?

This.....if you like digging through old, discontinued tackle and a great selection of all the latest baits and lure making supplies Tom's Sporting Goods on Buffalo Trail Road near Cherokee Lake is a good stop if you are in the area for a few days.

BTW WhopperStopper....I really like your tag line.

    Sil---thanks

Bass Phoenix--- you might try bluffs, especially the bluff ends. Working a creature bait very slowly down the bluffs has been working for us this week.

We had a tough week fishing only thing we did that worked was a shaky head morning dawn robo worm dragged extremely slow in 25-30 ft and a carolina rigged stick bait fished the same.

Made it to Tom's Sporting Goods and it was a neat bait shop for sure! Also checked out Bucks and Bass neat little shop.

Always tough during summer. I'm in White Pine. Next time let me know a few days prior and I'll try to help. I would choose spring or late fall. It's low water time but the fishing is much better.

We were looking for somewhere to go fishing/boating for the 4th of July and wife wanted Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge so we decided to try both and stay near Douglas. I appreciate the help and I will hit you up if and when we return!

If you come back in July/August and like to night fish you will have a lot more action doing that at this time of year. 50-75 fish a night are not uncommon on Douglas.....a lot of 12-14 inch fish but a great place to take a young one to get them some action.
