    Balancing jerk baits

When you adjust the buoyancy of jerkbaits, do you account for the weight of the line and have it rise very slowly or just adjust so it suspends by itself?

I like them to suspend dead still (although I do throw a Rapala Shadow Rap Shad slow sink at times). I finish my tuning on the water - mostly using Suspend-Dots and lead tape, which are easily trimmed on the bait.

I don't let a jerkbait sit for more than 3 or 4 seconds, so there isn't a great need to have the bait perfectly weighted. When I do want more weight I use various sized split rings attached to a hook hanger (or two). Cheap and easy to do on the water.
