    Cabela's or Bass Pro trip

This might me a chevy / ford thing...not wanting to start a thing just a question. I'm would like to make a trip to reload on fishing supplies and maybe get a new Gortex jacket if there is a decent sale. Are these stores more or less the same thing now? Cabela's is about 1.5 hours away Bass Pro is about 20 minutes less but they are mostly on the same path. I could do both but don't want to waste a bunch of time on a Saturday If I don't have to. I was thinking Cabela's was more hunting & Bass pro fishing but that was awhile ago.

    Thanks

I haven't been in a Cabela's in a few years, but seems like everything fishing related I order from BP ships from a Cabela's.

Pretty much the same thing now, selling the exact same stuff.

In the St. Louis area, BPS seems to have more selection than Cabela's in the fishing department.

They basically carry the same stock, can't speak about hunting because I don't hunt, but in my area of Ontario it seems Cabela's in Barrie has put an effort to stock the store, whereas BPS in Vaughan is always out of stock or items are not sold at all, and the BPS is twice the size of Cabela's, go figure !

I would recommend buying everything online that you can, since online you can get every size, color, etc... that you want or need. Just hit the store for anything you want to try on.

Which one is bigger? That will be the one with more to browse.

Neither, Cabelas is garbage since Johnny bought them and BassPro absolutely sucks here in Michigan.

Either way prepare to be disappointed. The main store in Missouri is the only one worthy of a trip.

For fishing, in my area Bass Pro has more inventory than Cabelas.

I don't go to either expecting a life altering experience. They have tackle, boats and outdoor gear plus some cool wildlife displays so it's a nice visit now and again.

    Go and have fun.

Both stores have the same items pretty much. Bass Pro has more in stock in my opinion.

Being from Tennessee also, you will find more fishing gear at BP.

They're just a tourist attraction that happens to sell some tackle.
