    Breaker Question on new Ultrex

Installing a 36 volt Ultrex (non Quest) on 2010 Cougar. It requires a 60 amp breaker, will the 3 smaller breakers I have now on each battery work or do I need to have the bigger 60 amp installed? Thanks

I’d recommend installing the 60amp. Also allows you to disconnect power while charging so you don’t backfeed and damage any electrical components inside the TM.

You will need the 60 amp breaker and we suggest BUSS brand.

All of my Cats have come from the factory with 50 the amp short stop type breaker, including my latest 2019. Has BCB started to upgrade to the 60 amp breaker?

Hmmm. Well I hope to install that Ultrex on my buddy's Cougar. The data I have says it draws 58 Amps max, so I guess the 60A breaker will work, as long as the wiring is 4 Gauge.

6 gauge is fine, 4 gauge has no bearing on the circuit size as for function of the system or protection

I have an 80 lb 24v ultrex and been using my original (Y2000) 50A breaker for a few years with no issue. I did buy a 60A, just never installed it.
