Ultra 106SV Future Livescope Compatibility

I currently own one Echomap Ultra 106SV and I am contemplating buying another while they are at the discounted price. Anyone have thoughts on whether or not the next version of Livescope (whenever that is) will be backward compatible with the Echomap Ultra 106SV or will it only work with the Echomap Ultra2 and newer units? I know it's just a guess but I'm curious what everyone's thoughts are.

I think if Garmin could make it work they would but there are some UI features on the Ultra 2 that are not on the Ultra so, its a roll of the dice.....personally i would guess that if a new LS would come out it would not work with the older Ultra units.....just my opinion. I'd say go with the newer Ultra 2 unless your one that doesnt upgrade until it 10 yrs later....

I have the 106SV with the LVS34 and it's a great combo, I would buy it while on sale.
