If the snake was a crankbait it would be a fire tiger pattern.

I caught a bowfin last spring on Champlain that had iridescent green fins. Had never seen one like it. Was told that happens during the spawn.

interesting, as much as I have been up there I still haven't caught one, or a walleye. Are you up there yet?

I don't know the origin/location of that video, but are there any parts of the US where they are not considered to be an invasive species with encouragement to catch and NOT release?

Like male Bowfin, they must turn green during the spawn period.

In Arkansas it is illegal to possess LIVE snakeheads. If you're going to keep one, it must be bonked. Personally, If I catch one, no matter how colorful, it will get bonked and filleted. Never have eten one, but all who have say they are tasty.

They are one of the best tasting fish there is. We target them during the spawn and they are a blast to catch and very good eating. They are in all of the rivers on the Chesapeake but don't seem to be hurting the bass population at all. They're getting bigger every year with close to 20 pounders being caught.

This was back in 2017 when I still fished from a kayak. Just about as long as my leg and towed me around like a trailer.
