Follow up my previous thermostat issue, and a new problem to ask about........

Thanks Don.....at least I know where to focus on......
Maybe a longshot question, but do those allen screws on the cap ever work loose causing these small leaks in the pump?
I guess my question is: if one or more of these capscrews are possibly not tight, would tightening these allen screws do anything to stop a leak?
Or once the leak starts, then the pump is shot?
