Info on a new 200
Thinking about repowering my 518 with a Suzuki 200. Anybody have any experience with one. Have an opti 200 now. Just wondering on performance and reliability. Thx

Rock solid reliable. Sips fuel. Super smooth. So quiet you can hardly hear it at idle and miles quieter than any Opti at any revs, not on the same planet.
Cant comment on bassboat performance because I dont have one. But do a search on this page and you will see quite a number of discussions.

I have a 200DF on my Stratos 295. Pretty good motor, good on gas, quiet. As far as performance, it does 60, could be propped for more but hole shot would suffer. Always starts.

It’ll be a bit slower top end and maybe slower on the holeshot because the 200 Suzuki is only a 4 cylinder motor vs the V6 Optimax. However, it is a lot quieter, and probably a lot less issues.

My Brothers 2006 Suzuki has been rock solid and very quiet, still running great
