    OMC ignition anylizer Home made

I want to thank Jerry "jughead" for being such a big help to me. After he sent me the harness connector that I needed along with printed instructions on how to build my own anylizer, I went to radio shack and spent about $11. went home and broke out my soldering iron and went to work. this is what it looks like, worked like a champ. no more hanging off the back of my boat to check the timing. He may have saved my life. I would be glad to send the instructions and help anyone else build their own, just ask.

Now remember that you do this at your own risk. I charge nothing for this and assume no responsibility for what happens if you try using it. I can only say that it worked perfectly for me and I am not a super genius or anything. It will only set your timing, it will not test the ois sensor. If you did not already receive a copy let me know as I sent one to everyone who gave me an e-mail address. PM me your e-mail Champion.

Keep this in mind fellas, this analyzer only works on the OIS ignition system on the 60* motors.

For those who have a V4 60° OIS equipped outboard - 90 & 115hp - and who build this tool, you may notice that there is no handy source for 12V positive on the motor as the starter solenoid is buried. Just crimp a male spade connector to the B+ wire and remove the engine fuse and insert the male terminal into the fuse holder hot side. Fasten an alligator clip to the ground wire and that can be clipped on any bolt or on bare metal.

For the connector, ask your dealer if he has any bad OIS power packs and cut the wire and connector off of one.

Would it be safe to assume then the A\B switch on a OEM tester only is for the optical eye test? What i'm getting at is the home built one good for V6 & V4 or just V6? That A/B switch to determine if your testing a 4 or 6 has to do something
