Which one ? Lithium 50 amp or 100 amp ??

Going to go Lithium for my Trolling Motor, I currently run 2-12v 180Resv, sealed batteries and have never come up short at the end of the day. So, can I switch to 2-12v 50 amp/hr and make it without coming up short at the end of the day, or go with the 100 amp/hr one ?

The sweet spot in price is at 100ah right now, but 50ah batteries should be plenty for the majority of people.

Litime, Chins, Wattcycle, Eleska all have teardown videos showing quality cells and construction and they can be had from $180-$220 for a 100ah battery.

I run a Garmin force and the brushless motor is very effective. I use 2 50 amp and have not run them down after a windy tournament day. It may depend on your trolling motor, size of boat and conditions you fish. Fishing current for example puts more demand

Be careful..... If the BMS only puts out 50A max, and your troller tries to pull more on hi.......... It's a problem. Most 100AH batts can give 100AH and not be a problem. And will give you extra insurance of a full day no matter what.

I personally would never consider 50AH batteries, especially in a 24V system.

Yes, you need to watch the discharge C-rate. Some batteries like the Monster Marines have a 2C (100a) discharge rate. Depending on which brand you're going with, simply going to a 100Ah is a pretty solid way to go. Several videos on my channel comparing 50-60Ah and 100Ah batteries.

I run 2 60 AH batteries on a 24V ultrex 80, and they work well. I normally fish about 8hrs in various conditions. The power they supply is enough, but the app and reporting proper SOC s another issue.

Something to consider: if you have an engine failure and depend on the trolling motor to get you back to the ramp, you may need all the AH’s you can get. You also need a good Bluetooth app to let you know your SOC so you can perhaps pick a closer place to beach the boat if you cannot make it to the ramp. Been there.

Another option if your going to stay with brushed 24v TM is two 24v battery's in parallel

Amped Outdoors has a bundle of two 50amps for 100amp total with a charger for 1350.00

Started in 16' with 2 Battleborn 50Ah for 24V Ultrex on 05' 519VX. Traded in the 519 for my current 19' 520L, moved those 2 and bought a new 50Ah from battleborn for the 36V Ultrex.
Have 2 50Ah battleborns in the 175TXW for the 24V Ultrex, also.
I've never had one issue with them, long days on TM,, windy days etc.... no problems on high or low.

Here in NE at least it seems, no long runs with outboard. TM stays in the water alot.

    Just stating my experiences....YMMV

Also look at the single 24v trolling batteries, you can put 2 together to increase capacity if needed

We offer a 24v-60Ah, plenty for most Fisherman $764 shipped with BBC15 code at checkout
