    Helix and mega live

Helix 9 g4n and mega live.
question is what the procedure for powering down live. I have a separate switch for each one. Do you turn the pinging off on the helix and then power down the live with the switch, or do I need to power down the helix and then the live and vise versa to power back up?

Makes no different how or when you disconnect power to the MEGA LIVE.

The MEGA LIVE has a wet switch to detect when it is submerged, the sonar pinging is turned off by that switch when the MEGA LIVE is not submerged. The internal processor uses power all the time to run the wet switch function. That is why you turn off the power when the boat is not on the water.

You don't need a separate switch for the display, the power button turns the unit off and on. It does not use power when off.
