Let’s not say don’t do it!
Just list your top three if you had to run something else

My old 2010 Optimax ran Pennzoil XLF, or Premium plus since new and never had an issue, still ran like a brand new motor when I traded it in, running Pennzoil XLF in my current 2017 Optimax as well, no problems at all with it.

Never ran DFI oil never seen the need to when Mercury recommenced PP. Ran Quicksilver PP back in early 2000's but it always left soot on prop. Been running Pennzoil PP since around 2012 in both my Pro XS 250's that have 100's of hrs use.

I have a lot of respect for these guys and appreciate their knowledge have worked with a few of them And have been very satisfied with the outcomes. But I’m the kind of guy who didn’t wear a mask
and by the way, if you knew some of these guys personally, some of the things they might say might surprise you

I sent off samples a few years ago to Blackstone labs. Best came back as merc racing and then Lucas 2 stroke racing oil. I didn't test amsoil, red line. Pennzoil was a very very close third. Others followed
