1990 374V Ranger Still kickin' bass after all these years
Approx $150 but I have had the same $150 in the wallet for over 6 months. Cash back cards are the only way for me.
I very seldom carry cash, debit card is used 99.9% of the time..............
Usually between 10 and 50. Still use the debit or credit card regularly...but I always have cash. Old habit from the military and being deployed in South and Central America...Hard to use plastic in the middle of the jungle.

Ranger 520vx Yamaha 225 ox66.
Starting to try and carry $40, to be on the safe side now days.
Where are you fellers going where “the card machine” isn’t working? I haven’t been in a situation where this occurred in my 47 years of life, so I’m curious.
...and I usually carry $15 - $20. Keep a quite a bit of cash in the gun safe. We’ve always done that, which makes no sense. Keeps my wife happyM so whatever.

maybe 30-40 as I use plastic for everything and have never paid a penny interest and always get a nice cash back amount.

Rarely do I ever have more than $20, maybe $30. A lot of times I may even have less. I use cash back card to pay for almost everything and sometimes check. Although many places around here are now charging an extra 2-4% on card use to not eat the fee themselves since Corona started so I may start using cash more.
1995 Ranger 487VS / 1998 Mercury 200 EFI
Somewhere between 20 and 130 at all times. Wife checks my wallet ever couple days and if I am down to a single 20 dollar bill she put 5 more in. Plus I have a little hidden in there for funny money just in case.

maybe $20...I pay cash for nothing, that is what my points card is for.

$50
$40-$60... Basically just enough to make any normal purchases in the event their card machine isn't working.
I would say typically between 100 to 200, but I am a bit old school. Don't use the cash much to be honest. Normally goes on a Delta or REI card.
Usually $0. I just use card for everything. If I know I"m going to be in a situation where I may need cash I will carry it, but not very often. I do have some emergency cash in my truck if I need it.
