5x3 Fishing has been bought by new owners

A lot of people were screwed by the old owners of 5x3 when they went under..............A new group of guys from here in Augusta, GA have bought the company and started it back up.........These guys are very trustworthy and looking to succeed in every way possible. I know them and know the type of people they are..........They have a new Facebook page and website.............

i wonder what exactly they "bought"???

seems like buying a bad name would be a losing proposition..

I always liked the designs and styles of the 5X3. I knew however they were selling inventory they didn't have and possibly never would have.

When a brand name is toxic, as are any logo's, brand recognition etc...you have to wonder what they bought? Screen printing gear? A mailing list? I'd hope they didn't spend much bc they won't ever see a dime from most of the people the "original" owners screwed over.

Maybe they will have great success. I loved the 5x3 organization when they first started.

Exactly my thought! I can't imagine there was any inventory. The accounting term for buying an existing business is buying "assets" and buying "goodwill". Since the original owner (probably) would have shipped any inventory he had, and there wasn't any "goodwill" value, I'd start from fresh scratch.

I got screwed by them. They should offer a one time discount to old customers as good faith. It'd go along way towards fixing the brand. Other than that I'm not interested. Won't search for them on the web or social media.

A name change would do them a world of good.

I've heard of people buying a nostalgia brand that was once good then doing a bait and switch with cheap crap. Not sure I've ever heard of someone buying a bad name with intentions of building it back up. Guessing they're banking on getting new customers that have no clue about what happened in the past?
