I use a zoom trick worm weightless around the spawn. I like green pumpkin with chartreuse tail. Or the bright bubble gum or methalate color. I haven't had much luck with them on Shakey head. I like the net bait T-mac worms for that.
Also I would match your color to the water clarity. Not the pressure on the lake.
Trick worm is all I ever use with the exception of a Yamamoto kut tail if I’m going magnum.

Zoom color Black or Baitfish, and a blue pearl silver flake(my lure company calls it opening night)
Green pumpkin with a chartreuse tail, or black with red flake.
And sometimes, if they're being real picky, I'll throw black grape.
