I use a zoom trick worm weightless around the spawn. I like green pumpkin with chartreuse tail. Or the bright bubble gum or methalate color. I haven't had much luck with them on Shakey head. I like the net bait T-mac worms for that.

Also I would match your color to the water clarity. Not the pressure on the lake.

Trick worm is all I ever use with the exception of a Yamamoto kut tail if I’m going magnum.

Zoom color Black or Baitfish, and a blue pearl silver flake(my lure company calls it opening night)

Guess, I'm not the only one that loves that color judging by the respones. Green pumpkin and black can also be good, but watermelon candy is my go to.
