Need opinions on a 2013 189 VLO, is it a Champion hull?

I am new to bass boats but came across a 2013 189 VLO for sale in super clean condition with unbelievably low hours on a 150 Optimax. Is it a clone of a Champion hull? Seems like a good boat to me but like I said, I'm new to bass boats. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I believe its more of a traditional bass boat hull than my 186xt (skiff style hull). I will say if I had to do it over again I would have gotten that boat and wouldnt be contemplating upgrading like I am now

I’ve had two 176s, one XT and one VLO. The VLO has some really nice features and I would expect the 189 to be a real nice boat for the money (compared to the prices of Ranger, Triton, Phoenix, etc.). I’m not sure on the old Champ Hull question. Hopefully it’s set up well with electronics for you.

The electronics are original to the boat so they are pretty outdated but they are good enough for a newby like me!

Second that it is not a Champion, not even close. It’s the budget tour model meaning it has all the minimum criteria for serious club tournament rig but, at 18’ 9”, there are better options in that size IMHO. Having rode in one it’s got too much depth in the hull up front so it handles waves well but it negatively affects handling in other areas. The rod locker is a touch to short and Stratos could have shifted the cockpit rearward 6” and solved this issue. Other than that, it’s not a bad ride For it’s price point but if it was my money, I would shop an 03-08 201 pro! Way, Way better base and worth fixing up if need be.

heck with the champion hull. The 201 and 200xl are the best hull ever. I do think the model you listed is a very worthy platform with a 150.
