    Best Propeller

I am purchasing a new 179 TRX with a 115 pro xs and was wondering which prop will perform best all around and which is best for top speed?

I like the Mercury 3 bladed Fury prop in a 23" pitch . Not sure if the 115 Pro XS can push that prop in a 23" pitch. I have a trophy, tempest and the Fury , and all in the 23" pitch . The Fury is the best all around for holeshot and top end speed on my Triton TR186 with a Opti 150. I heard all kinds of stories about the Fury prop losing a blade, but I believe that it might be the 4 bladed fury props and not the 3 bladed ones.

It's all just speculation until you get it in the water and get the WOT RPM. From there you can start making decisions.

19 pitch 4 blade trophy is a good starting point.

Mine came with a 24P 3 Blade Stainless steel prop. Mercury Tempest Plus. I've seen as high as 52 with just me in the boat, low fuel, live wells empty, etc. etc. I typically top out around 49-50mph depending on the weight in my boat.

The boat came with a Mercury X7 spitfire in 19 pitch and after the break in period at WOT it was hitting the rev limiter and the speed was 52.4 mph. Full tank and live well probably half full

don't know if you'll get much more than 52.4 with a 115....that's pretty good!!!
