    Hold Sweet Corn Price

Let's face it inflation is here big time. I have seen some crazy prices for sweet corn. To be honest I think it's high enough that I wouldn't buy it.

Bottom line I never sold sweet corn for more than $4.00 a dozen. You really get 14 ears, just in case one is bad.

We are going to hold the price at $4.00.

Bottom line this translate in a pretty good loss.

Why do it? Well that would get me banned.

Really I just can't charge you the actual production cost and profit. You couldn't afford it.

I haven't found it around here for less than $5 a dozen so far, which I pay. 12 ears is what I get. wish someone here would sell it for that.. but not if it's costing them money to trade. I'll pay the $5, its a treat while its fresh and available.

Currently, $0.50 at the grocery store, half that price at the farmer's market.
Before the year is over, folks will be seeing the impact of the production costs.
Along with a supply issue ... drought, war, etc. Plus farmers are planting less.

.42 per ear at North GA Walmart this past weekend. I bought 24 of them.

Deer corn is way up - $10 for 40 and 50 lb bags depending on where you get it.

4 for $5 in our grocery store. Was mad when the wife bought 8 ears and didn't get them cooked and threw them away.

Been pleasantly surprised at the price of many fruits and vegetables tbis year. Many are lower than last year on average. I was not expecting that since most things are more expensive these days.

It's been $5-$6/13 ears for a few years here, depending on which stand you stop at.

Local veggie stand is charging 9 dollars per dozen. 2.00 per pound for fresh tomatoes and 1.00 each for cucumbers. I'm about two weeks out from picking my own tomatoes been getting cucumbers for almost two weeks now.

No problem paying FARMERS, that kind of price. They deserve it and I enjoy buying the good stuff. Love it when the stands show up along the county roads.

If you are in eastern Pa or Jersey, don’t feel bad about charging and making a profit. I know nobody does Silver Queen much anymore because of the 90 day germination, but 60 day from same family tree in that part of the world is GOOD EATING, young white corn, three minutes , slice up a fresh heirloom tomato, don’t get much better! I am in Canada for the summer, locals say, “this is good corn”…I say, “Oh, Wilbur!”

So why would you sell at a loss? The market sets the price. Is everyone selling at a loss? I know this is a poorly disguised political post but I thought I’d ask

Farming. We did it. Better to lose $1 than $2. Every year is a crapshoot.

We actually have a big problem brewing up this time. Reduced planting.
Due to escalation of prices before season, many cutback on acreage, etc.
When we get to winter, you're going to see it. Just know it's not pretty.
