Been getting fresh Oklahoma corn in Missouri for the last week for 50 cents and ear. Local crop should come to market in a week, I expect 40 to 50 cents an ear.

I just bought two ears for 80 cents in Lexington, GA. Agree however that deer corn has skyrocketed.

Farming is easy. You take all the risk, work hard, grow it, harvest it, show up at the market and poof, you're losing money.
Growers don't set market pricing, period. You'll know the price just before arrival. It can go pure nuts in a day, or even less.
Once you've planted, you're pretty committed. Kind of like a late night party without a condom. Maybe it'll be OK, or not.
