LandBigfish.com periodically has sales on Shimano reels, 25% off usually. You have to be on their preferred customer list to get the offer. Contact them and ask to be put on the list.

Asian Fishing Portal.....take advantage of the currency mismatch as the Japanese Yen is really low. https://fishing.asian-portal.shop/ca...350/pid/301485

It only lasts for a couple of days, they send you a discount code. If you haven't been sent the code, you're not on the list. You've got to be on their preferred customer list. How you get on that list, I don't know.

I have ordered from Asian Portal a few times without any issues. It is a great time right now like you said with the Yen rate.

There are few Ebay sellers form Japan that you can find them cheaper, and you'll get them delivered in three days. Bought many from them. Never had an issue

The USD is the strongest it has been in 20+ years, and will be getting even stronger with today's rate hike. The USD is destroying the Japanese YEN, and after Shimano's recent price increase in the US market, it makes it much cheaper to buy a JDM reel from Japan.

The prices at the Asian portal are really good. I wish I would have known about this before I dropped retail price on a Diawa Tatula 100.

I’ve never seen Daiwa or Shimano on sale, unless they were clearing discontinued models. I recently discovered Digitaka (their website is the easiest to navigate) and purchased a couple of Exists, a couple of Certate’s, and a couple of Zillions. All bought separately and all in my hands in 3 business days. The catch is - you won’t have a warranty, and some will be a true JDM product (not exactly the same as what’s sold stateside - you have to do the research to find out if it’s a good thing, or bad thing for the particular item you’re considering).

I prefer to patronize local and state side businesses when I can, but this price gap is too big, and our own companies can’t seem to keep stock on anything anyway. I chased around several companies for months last year trying to accumulate some Daiwa Ballistic MQ’s when they first came out - never again. (Now I can’t even use them, after experiencing the Exists)
