That’s great, I bet she was pretty proud of that. Hope y’all find the deer you are looking for. I know here in South Georgia they are all over the roads.

    Thanks all.
The oil injection system has been deleted.

Could it be the fuel pump?

Is there a suitable carb replacement fir this engine that does not have the accelerator pumps? I'm concerned about getting parts in the future.

That too becomes a bit tricky as you not only need the right carb model, you also have to make sure the jetting is appropriate. That can get a bit sketchy...

    Thanks Don.
I found some used 150 HP carbs with the same part number, but without the accelerator pumps.

    Here is a comparison:
    Mercury 150 HP carb comparison:

    0D050150 (1991) with accelerator pump:

    Top part #: 818650A31
    Middle part #: 818650A32
    Bottom part #: 818650A56

    Jets:

Item 15: 0.084 Back draft vent jet
Item 16: 0.042” Idle air bleed jet
Item 17: 0.044” Off idle air progression jet
    Item 34: 0.062” Main jet
Item 35: power jet - no size listed in parts breakdown

    (1993):

    Top part #: 818650A31
    Middle part #: 818650A32
    Bottom part #: 818650A56

    Jets:

Item 12: 0.086 Back draft vent jet
Item 13: 0.052” Idle air bleed jet
Item 6: 0.050” Off idle air progression jet
    Item 23: 0.062” main jet
Item 35: power jet - no size listed in parts breakdown

I would say "off the cuff" that the jetting changes (primarily idle and off idle) were to fatten it up for acceleration purposes (without the accel pump).

More than likely will work just fine on your engine.
