Wife’s on her way to Norway for 16 days and I’m thinking “ yup,I miss my Blackjack” . Had to put him down this spring after 16.5 wonderful years.

I held my girlfriend's dog when she passed in December. She was my dog too, but lived with her, her constant companion. 15 and a half years. Reading these posts still brings a lump to my throat.
They just don't last long enough. I was at the bank and the doctor's today for 4 hours with Lucy, my only dog now. She was perfectly behaved, and now is sleeping on my right hip like she always does.
Try to remember, they were with you a small part of your life, but they were with you their entire life, in most cases. You brought them joy, and finally you released them when it was time, to keep them from suffering.

Had to put our German Shepherd done, hugged him and cried, until he took his last breath. That was 2 yrs ago, this past Nov, still hurts when I think about it.

I love my little dog just like a child - losing one is very hard - I still cry when I think of our last pup.

We have a pup that’s a rescue, we had her shots and fixed. She follows my 10 yo little boy around every where he goes. I’m seeing them both learn a lot about life together. They are absolutely inseparable. Dogs are awesome.

Divorced wife called. My wiener dog Ganster was sick and had to be put down. I went to the vet where he was and was able to pet and comfort him. He had a liver disease and was lemon yellow. Ten minutes and it was done.

    So freaking hard. Prayers brother.
