Chevrolet Silverado 1500 3.0L Duramax Diesel

I had to hand my truck down to an employee. A few good deals on 2022 gas engines but may come without chips. Need to double check. I’m thinking about trying the 3.0L Duramax. I searched threads on here but would like the latest opinions from the real world.
Pros and cons. My mileage includes a lot of farm roads at 20 mph or less. Not sure if this is a factor.
I won’t be married to it because have to hand it down into the fleet in a couple years.

Got my money’s worth out of my old one. It’ll make a nice irrigator truck now.

I just hit 6k miles on my 3.0, and so far so good. Mileage is very impressive, and even more impressive while pulling the boat.

I just bought my second one and will buy another when the time comes. I’m continually impressed with the 3 litre and 10 speed combo

Love mine and REALLY LOVE the mpg! Just took a 200 mile round trip and averaged 32. Mine’s a 21 with 14k miles and bought it brand new. It has been in the shop for a tire sensor and a ecv valve. Both taken care of promptly by the dealer.

2020 Z71 Crew with baby Dmax. Love this truck. Have 32K on it, and still grin when I mash the go pedal. Gobs of torque. Tows great and gets great mileage. Lifetime fuel mileage is currently 19.7, with about 60-70% of that towing the boat.

I've got one in a GMC. I know it's not Chevy but same thing. Like others, I'm very impressed with power, towing and great gas mileage.

Too bad they don't offer it in the work truck or I'd be all over it.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. Seems to be unanimous. I’m going with the 3.0L.

    Well, I will go first.

Mine is too tall. Had to settle for 4 wheel drive, my feet don't quite go all the way to the ground. (before the short jokes start, I am average height)

And, it's too small, I can't seem to get enough stuff inside. I will change to the Suburban (3.0L) relatively soon.

    Hope that helps.

    Best,

    BRNut

Like hearing all the positives...I'm strongly considering an AT4X with the baby D-Max for my next truck.
