Need someone to hang an outboard

    Hey all,

I am continuing the process of updating my current boat. Next on the agenda is a fresh powerplant. I have a line on a low hour, 2013 250 pro XS to replace my current 2004 225 optimax. I don't have a location in which i can lift the current engine off of my boat. I need someone to pull the current motor, hang the new one, and swap the jet pump onto the new outboard. Looking for a place within 1-2hrs of NE PA (Wilkes Barre PA 18706). Thank you in advance,

    Lenny

Call Hall’s Marine in Muncy PA. They are familiar with jets too.

highway couldnt set me up with a date to do the work. they just told me drop it off and we'll get to it when we can. They also quoted me twice what Lakeside did and talked about the swap like it was going to be an extensive job and that parts would probably not be compatible.

May do good work, but my initial experience wasn't great.

I can hang it for you and do the install but it will have to wait till after the holidays. Everything should be a clean swap over. Did you get a new oil tank too? Is the new engine on an engine pallet?

I recommend Joe Pa. Trust him as he knows what he is doing and much better than most marinas. PLUS he will not over charge you.

Thats for the best anyway. I've drive 3 hours to Halls before I let Highway touch anything. Between not wanting to do Mercury warranty work, causing a fire to start on my Dad's boat, and forgetting a hose clamp on a fuel line on another boat, I don't even consider them to be a last resort at this point.

JoePa, any chance you can install a 6inch bobs jackplate and wiring on a 23 tracker 195?
