Going from 93sv to 126sv wiring question???

Im basically upgrading/ going to bigger screen on my Livescope setup... i currently have the 93sv unit and will be purchasing the 126sv unit (will be strickly for Livescope only)
Beside the Ram mount (i already have that) what wiring differences would i have to run to change over to the bigger unit?
I have a dedicated power wires ran to an Amped Outdoors battery?
Does the 126sv use the same power wire as the 93sv?

What size wires are being used with the current 93?

Doing a little looking at the Garmin website, the Echomap Plus 93sv had a 3 Amp fast blow fuse. The Ultra 126sv uses an 8 Amp fast blow fuse. Both fuses have the same physical dimensions, so you should be able to find an inline 8.0 Amp fuse that fits. The question of wire gauge for the supplied wires is a good one, though. I don’t have the specs for the power cables
supplied with each unit to see if they match.

As an FYI, the 3 Amp fuse from your 93sv would sufficiently protect your 126sv, but it will blow if the 126sv draws above 3 Amps, even though it could safely handle above 3 Amps. It would be annoying (having to replace fuses) rather than damaging to your Ultra.

The wire gauge should be different between the 93 and 126 harness. The 12" pulls about 3x the current, i'd go ahead and install it right with the proper power cables.

All wiring to it is 8 gauge. I do have an inline fuse on it currently (forgot what size fuse is in it though)

Not quite that. The power cords are different part numbers. The power cord for the 126 has larger gauge wiring than the 93sv.

Click "Compatible Devices" - You'll see that Garmin does not recommend using the 93sv cable on a 126...

coming across this a few months later as i had the same question and it was not fully answered

    93sv power cable = 18awg
    126sv power cable = 16awg

long story short, use the correct cable. I know its easy to just plug and play but you will get a better image end of the day
