Look for a bit that has serrations on the flutes. They bite into the head of the screw. Proper size has a lot to do with it too.

I always had better traction with the #2 bits that were slightly rounded at the tip. They were very common 20+ years ago and preferred by many of the drywallers that I knew before drywall tips came along. You could often buy them by the handful at the counter of hardware stores but I haven't been able to find them recently. They were similar to these from Wiha: https://www.wihatools.com/products/p...1a98cf7a&_ss=r

The Philips LOOKING screws that hold Honda and some other rotors on after you remove the wheel is a J I S screw. If you buy a J I S screwdriver it runs into quite a bit of money but if you grind about .040" off the tip of a good #2 Philips it works just fine. Otherwise you strip them out.

I've had a #2 Snap-On screw driver for more than 20 years and it still works great.

Another vote for Wiha, if shopping for an excellent screwdriver.

Yeah There's numbers for a reason. Just like almost everything else in the tool box.

I can confirm using your teeth while drunk is the incorrect tool.

Right tool for the job. Include JIS and especially, a hand impact driver. You can thank me later for the latter…
