Lithium 50 AH not holding it's charge

Hey Guys, I have a dedicated 50 AH lithium battery that is being used for my Live scope (Garmin 106 SV, LVS 34) with a Noco 5AH charger. My battery will charge up to 13v but when I go to use it I get the warning low voltage after maybe just a few hours of using. Also, When I go to unplug the charger only the orange power light is on . My guess is that I have a bad charger but thought I would see additional thoughts.

When its fully charged and still on the charger it should be reading 14V.

That Garmin pulls 3 amps an hour, most likely the battery.

I am thinking you're not getting full charge because of low temperatures! Tell us about temps where stored and charged. Also maybe too small of a charger to get charge started in this cold weather.

Could the cold snap are anything to do with this?

Ensure you are in the lithium setting for the NOCO
would be helpful to know which battery you have.

    13 volts. 13.0? 13.5?

how long is "a few hours"? 3 hours? 6?

Cold weather will not let lithiums charge correctly especially if you didn’t charge them soon as u got done fishing while they still had some heat in them. The charger size has zero to do with it also as most small ones do just fine with a 3AH charger. Take it inside to warm up and I bet u have zero issues with battery afterall

If I understand it correctly a LIFEP04 cell at full charge is 3.65 V DC. There are 4 LIFEP04 cells in a 12 V LIFEP04 battery. That's a total of 14.6 V DC. If your battery charger only charges to 13 or 13.5 V it will never fully charge the battery.

If you are talking about the last few days. Temperatures were to low for correct charging. Talk to who you got the battery and charger from and get their recommendations.
When weather warms it will probably charge then but you may have to jump it off to get it started. Lithium is in another world when temps are below 32 degrees.

Sounds like the chemistry it matched up as long as you are on the Lithium setting with the Noco.

How many hours of run time are you getting?
What is the voltage of the battery after it is fully charged and resting? 13.X volts? What's the "X"?

Have you reached out to GLine?

Take the battery indoors and let it sit for a couple hours then try charging.

Getting a voltage drop? What size wire and how far? When volts drop the amps go up.

How long have you been using it? I would have thought a deep cycle battery would have been better for a standalone set up rather than a cranking type. But like others have said these cold temps will affect the charging. It certainly does for my power tool lithiums.
