Is it possible to go from bu8h to a gapable plug?
Motor is a 1989 200. At idle it’s missing and will die out. I’ve had it in the shop and this was their next recommendation to try on my own before bringing it back.

so you paid them and now they want you to fix it yourself ??????cmon man you gotta be kidding, well BR8HS-10 is what you need , but is not gonna solve the issue

As said above, plug style is not your issue.
1995 Allison XB-2003 225 Super Mag. It's slow and I'm ok with that.
Get a timing light and see if all your coils are firing. Could have a bad coil or switch box. This would be a good start to make sure the electrical side is working
