I don't usually weigh them but measure against the state citation length and throw them back.
Two SM in VA over 20" both on a crank bait.
One LM over 22" in VA on a jig.
One LM over 21" in MD on a rattletrap.
Numerous over 22" in NC (NC is 24" but I spent so long in VA they are notable to me), most were either a crankbait, jig, and one on a t-rig brush hog. This is interesting because in the waters I fish in NC I tend to use a spinner bait or chatter bait most. I may have to rethink my strategy here in NC.

Largemouth I’m listing 2. The weights were dam near identical but one was clearly a bigger body.

The fist LM was weighed on scales that measured pounds and ounces. The second was scales that display pounds tenths and hundredths. 12 oz is .75 in that format. Although the second one was .72 in weight its body was clearly 2” inches longer. The first one was early March and very full of eggs. The second one was late May and spawned out and skinny as a rail. Had I caught this fish a month or so earlier it would have easily been over 8. Although the second one was a small fraction of a ounce lighter I consider my 7.72 a bigger fish than my 7-12
