Do these things have gold in them now or what....? What's folks sleeping on nowadays? I don't even remember the brand of what I've got but we've had it since probably 2009-2010.... And it's been a good mattress but the way my back is now I can't sleep on it no more.....looking at a few different ones.....ruled out sleep#s for now..what say you....?

Had a waveless waterbed back in my youth - wife hated it.
Got a very expensive, high-end air bed "sleep number" type. Wife hated it.
Tried a traditional mattress. Wife hated it.
We switched to independent Tempur-pedic Breeze mattresses on adjustable frames (two Twin XLs for a King size bed). We could each choose our own firmness, and they allowed an exchange after a 30 day trial (which my wife took advantage of since her initial selection was too soft). We both love our mattresses, and the independent adjustability of the separate bedframes.

Yes, they are expensive, but what is a good night's sleep worth... is it worth as much as a FFS setup or new trolling motor? lol

We've been sleeping on a Helix Brand for about 4 months. Great mattress and won't break the bank

My wife and I are looking for a new mattress but can't decide which way we want to go. We both want a cool mattress and would like an adjustable base.

And yes mattress prices have gotten out of hand.

Based on research I would not have guessed I would pick a Purple mattress. That was until I laid on it in the store. Took about 20 seconds to decide. Six months later, wonderful. It's a tough call. Everyone has a different best.

Check out this website for good research.

    Yes. I think 2, 3 or 4. 2 the most firm, 4 softest. I choose the 3.

I bought some foam ones on amazon that are wrapped in a box. I haven't checked prices in a few years but paid around $500- I like them but my wife says they give her hip pain i dont know.

Shopping for a new one today. Getting away from the foam mattresses.

They seem to sink a little to much for my bad back.

Love our Purple, there are 4 levels, had it a little over 3 years now and have no cons about it.

I really need to start shopping for a new one but what little I've tried to research has been somewhat overwhelming. Where is a good place to start looking?

Highly recommend two twin XLs with individually adjusted bases. They are truly life changing. My lower back is full of arthritis, and with the adjustable base the pain is greatly reduced. There are several makers out there and I’ve heard good things about the Costco version.
