I have been trying to get back over to False River. I have not been in 30 years. Telling you how long, I used to launch at Boneventures. Don’t know how long it has been gone. My favorite place was the south flat and I understand that this is different? Is there still abundant grass on the flat? And, is the best place to launch for that area on the island side?
There is no grass anywhere now. Best landing is the public launch. The lake is a shell of what it used to be back in the day when it had grass everywhere

And to add to that , when it gets a little warmer you cant fish past about 10AM or youll be dealing with all of the pleasure boaters who are constantly up and down the lake .

Wow, the grass is what made it great for me
It seems like I only post on "lost and declining" south Louisiana fishing spots! False River is not what it used to be put at least there is a plan that is actually being executed to try to return it to its former glory!
