Two wrongs don't make a right , but three lefts do.
thanks for the prayers and thoughts, it's the boredom that gets a little old, my Dr. told me not to walk as much as I was doing, hard to slow down when you think you're feeling better.
Stay positive, do what they say and all the best. I just finished six weeks of radiation therapy and have no plans of giving in.
Good luck.
Been there and done that. It’s over and done with. Get back to living and don’t worry until there is something to worry about, which is probably never.
This runs in my family, may Dad had it at 46, just a matter of time for me. When it does, do I pick a doctor that uses robotic technology? I don’t think a doctor like this is “real” surgeon. I mean, he is taking the “tradition” out of the practice. What about the “intrinsic value” in not knowing if all the cancer has been removed, where is the mystery and magic of the unknown? Also, I just think all of these younger doctors who grew up with this stuff are taking jobs away from the older traditional doctors. Everything these older doctors spent their entire lives learning is just thrown out the window by these robots. And who wants to watch a robot do the surgery, that is really boring. Anyway, I just think robotic surgery is ruining the practice of medicine.

Had mine removed oct 24 last year , easiest thing ever 1 night in hospital Catheder for 13 days , robotic surgery as well . Never had any pain , don’t have any issues whatsoever , go in 2 weeks for my 3 month follow up, first visit psa was 0 , all I want is zeros now .
i think there has to be a doc to run the robot and has to have the knowledge in case there is an issue like a bleeder problem. My doc did it himself with his hands. He offered to set me up with someone else if I wanted the robot but I declined. I’m a fan of traditional as long as they are good at what they do and my guy was/is. They are still around

What is the recovery time on removal? I have to go in to be tested on the 12 point grid, as my PSA has taken a Jump. I go in this morning for a special MRI of the prostate, that the Urologist ordered . I think this is something new for prostate patients. Only 1 place has this special MRI machine.
biggest concern will be getting you function back and stop the shrinkage. you need blood flow for the healing, use Cialis everyday after a couple of weeks after the catheter comes out. a cheap pump will work for rehab, will do the same thing versus a medical grade pump. if you don't do this you will have some major shrinkage. your best shot is early rehab.
So what is recovery time?
Had the robotic surgery on Tuesday. Feeling much better today. Walking around, pain is minimal (feels like you’ve done a 1000 crunches without the effects ). Catheter for me hasn’t been painful. It’s actually kinda convenient .
Here’s what the discharge paperwork reveals. Probably various between patients.

All depends on your body. For me, they remove the catheter at 10 days and out of work for 6 weeks. I had a lot of leakage , even had to wear a diaper for a couple of weeks, then nighttime only and pads during the day. Everything came back to normal after 6 months. That said, some people never leek and back to normal after 6 weeks

Is lab work the reason you guys are knowing there is an issue? I see my PCP every year and with me getting older too I wasn’t sure if I should have him check something else or just routine labs as I feel fine.
Update: Everything went well, recovery has been quick for me 8 weeks out. Continence not an issue, I did a lot of kegels in the month leading up so I'm sure that helped. I'm pretty much back to normal minus strenuous athletics like hockey or soccer. I've been walking alot and have gotten back out on the water. From my experience take it easy during the first couple weeks, you'll know if you overdo it. I'm officially 92grams lighter, my prostate was an over achiever in the size dept. I feel much more agile now. Overall, get your psa checked if you're approaching on in the recommended age group, if you get it early it's a bump in the road of life. I forgot to add, I can also pee into the wind.
