No. Just hope the power doesn’t go out
No
My parents would not let me shower during a thunderstorm. Years later Mythbusters did an episode on this and confirmed you can be shocked while showering. Also, the NWS says it happens to several people each year.

Hi Mike.
If it hasn’t got me in the storms I’ve been through, the showers sure not.
The first time my wife's new ICD zapped her was when she had stepped into the shower, and she had just turned on the shower faucet. She said she "heard" a loud BANG in her head, saw a huge flash of light and she collapsed sitting on the shower floor. She thought sure the house was hit by lightening and arced to her in the shower - based on being told since we were little that happens.
She had no concept of what would happen when her defib device gave her a jolt - and it was very unfortunate it happened to her for the first time at that moment. But obviously, very lucky she is alive because it did.
No. Not saying it couldn’t happen. I do have pvc instead of copper or galvanized lines.

Heck I got shocked running back to the marina in Galveston area in rain, lightening got a little close to us. Taking a shower would not bother me.

More risky with metal pipes and cast iron tub I'd guess.
According to the NWS your odds of getting struck by lightning is 1 in 15,300 and approximately 40 million strikes hit the ground in the us each year.
1 in 15,300, to me is not odds I'd play around with.
Hi Mike.
Nope.........smell like a goat must take shower come heck or high water/lightning.
I’ll shower. Enough things to worry about in life. This ain’t one of them.
Usually sitting on the porch
[QUOTE=sflam123;13423164]I am a survivor of such an event. Some 55 years ago, lightning struck the incoming electrical line on my parents house, rode the electrical line through the fuse box (melted ALL the fuses in the box) exited the electrical line out of the outlet next to their enameled metal bathroom sink (it was an OLD house) and went to ground. Unfortunately, I happened to have my hands on the bathroom sink, brushing my teeth. Knocked me unconscious, had first and second degree burns on my hands and arms and set our house on fire. Fortunately, I have only a spotty memory of the event, and thankfully, minimal scarring from the burns. My parents home did sustain significant damage from the strike.[/QUOTE
My parents used to have a small propane heater in their bathroom. Lightning hit the opposite side of their house, somehow got on that propane line and set the house on fire under the floor of the bathroom. My dad crawled under the house with a garden hose and damn near had it out by the time the rural fire department arrived, but the smoke almost got him. They had to replace a couple of floor joices and some flooring.
Didn’t even know that was even a thing. Not sure how water in PEX that comes from under a slab would conduct a lightening strike.
