As many of you know, my parents live in a community on Haines Creek. They were notified yesterday that the Lock will close sometime in late june and be closed for 6 months while major repairs/improvements are made. So basically from July to December Lake Griffin will be cut off from the rest of the chain.
Improvements?

I didn't get the details but that sounds right. Apparently in the letter they mention the "drive system" being replaced so that must be it.
Hopefully that will keep some of the bass tournaments of the Harris chain so the bass can recuperate. There has been so many tournaments the last few years that it has disrupted bass fishing for the local bass fishermen.
I bet there are less major tournaments from June-December than from Decmber-June.
We have had 3 tournaments so far this year on Harris.
And BASS mid April
Took over 30lbs to win last Saturday. Seems to be doing pretty well.
