    NCAA Hockey "Sweet 16"

    Starts today. Who you got?? Bracket here:

    https://www.collegehockeynews.com/reports/conf/NCAA/7

    My kid is a North Dakota grad so going with the Sioux, gonna hang banner #9! LOTs of very good teams this year so it's wide open but those Boston teams look tough. It's the best time of year to watch college hockey.

    For tv info for anyone interested, games are on various ESPN channels. For specifics see the TV links here:

    Would be nice for Hastings to get a championship with Wisconsin after a really good run with my alma mater Mankato. I'll probably end up cheering for Wisconsin or Michigan Tech (the lone CCHA team). Can never count out Quinnipiac and they seem kinda under seeded.

    The Eagles do look tough and they've been pretty dominant in the East this year. I'll be rooting for UMaine of course but they're a long shot. BU beat them 4-1in the Hockey East semis so we'll see how it goes. One funny bounce of the puck can change the entire scene.

    Wisconsin = Mankato East
    I'm sure there's no love lost in Mankato for Hastings at this point. He took half his squad with him to Wisco, and Mankato's record this year shows it. Hopefully they get back to the top soon. I'm from the Mankato area but wasn't a college hockey fan until 2016.

    CC was hurt by losing to some low end teams which came back to bite them. Nice to see them doing well regardless. They kicked the sh!t out of UND this year.

    I was hoping to see UNH, one of the kids I coached is doing well as a rookie, but the bracket is set up well for a Boston final!!!!!

    Would LOVE to see an old WCHA Frozen Four with WI, MN, Nodak and Denver! Highly unlikely though, but still fun to think about.

    With WI being Mankato East, would that be the reason Zach Urdahl transferred to Omaha this year?

    UMASS sure played and looked like they belonged in the
    tourney to me. Always somebody left out, just how it is.

    RIT or Cornell. Actually surprised those nerdy schools made it that far both are about 2hrs from here.

    we had season tickets for Utica University hockey, they lost in the semi finals last week in the Division III playoffs

    I have no bad blood toward Hastings. He had a chance to grab the bag. Many other people would do the same. His players also love him so no need to get butt hurt about the transfers. I was expecting Mankato to be a lot worse this year so that was a nice surprise.
