Yamaha 250 SHO and hot foot

If I want to put a hotfoot in a new boat do I need to stick with the 250 SHO instead of a Yamaha 300?

Depends upon the F300 model. Some use digital controls. Which would require a digital hot foot. If they exist. A mechanical F300 is similar to a VF250 in that it uses mechanical controls.
