    18TrX getting on plane.

The bow of my boat gets high out of the water when I take off. My motor is trimmed down and I get on the gas pretty good. Then it porpoises a few times before it settles down. Motor is a 200. It almost sounds like it’s sucking air for a second or two. I don’t know what is going on.

Make sure the engine is trimmed all the way down. Don’t look at the gauge. You will need to listen for the change in the tone of the trim pump. The 4s engines take a long time to trim down all the way.

I just bought a 2021 18 trx. Has 200 ProXS. Hydraulic JP. What kind of speed can I expect out of it? I got it to touch 65 once with about 3/4 tank of gas. Running a 24 pitch prop and only turning about 5200 rpm’s. Should I go to a 23? I thought this boat may flirt with 70.

You need to verify your Throttle is opening 100 %.

Your dealer can check it on his computer.

22 or 23 fury 3 likely better throttle body size holds these engines back too much

Update: I had raised my jackplate from the factory set by 2”. I was advised to lower it back to factory settings. I did. Gets on plane great and runs much better.

measure it so you know where you are then set it to 3 below

I moved it to 3” and it was awful. That’s why I lowered back down to the factory setting.

set it to 3" below not move 3" once you get around the sweet spot a 1/4 inch makes a big difference
