    Anyone killed a turkey yet?

My son killed his first last weekend during juvenile here in TN. Regular season opens this weekend. Birds are strutting everywhere right now. Should be a good season around here.

Congrats to your son... nothing like that first one.

If he really enjoys turkey hunting and likes to read, it would be well worth your time to find this book for him...

Thanks for the suggestion Brian. We are both readers so I will see if I can find it for him.

Stoopid birds! There's been a flock of 30 around here for months tended by 4 toms right up until 10 days ago. Apparently the hens headed to their nesting area. Season starts in a week or so

If you follow Col. Kelly on Facebook he periodically releases signed copies. I scored one a couple weeks ago.

As to the OP’s original question, I had a good Oklahoma hunt this week but didn’t close the deal. Indiana opens Wednesday and am looking forward to that.

I killed two in three trips last year. The damn thing are frustrating me this year. I have attempted to work about 10 or twelve different Toms only to get them to just out of range. So now I have some tss shells and they are staying a little farther away.

This one came in on the 2nd day of Indiana season. Been trying to get my boy one and it's been a struggle.

I finished my limit yesterday. ( last day of season here) had to deer hunt him as he would not come to a call. As they say, “ if you can’t call, crawl”

Gonna eat one Tenn tag I think...I've got one more left...but after 4 in Bama and 1 in Tennessee I think I'm about done for the year...had a lot of fun this season..my last bird worked me over for a few hunts and then the morning I took him, I roosted him the evening before and he flew off the roost within range and was toast within 5 min... sometimes, even the most frustrating birds do exactly what you want them to do...you just gotta get in their wheelhouse...
