Hard to steer with active transducer

Mounted my active transducer on my trolling motor. First time out today. It was very difficult to steer without the motor trying to turn sideways. Any tips ???

Sounds like you have a cable binding up somewhere. Make sure you have enough slack.

Did you mount it on the motor or on the shaft ? If on the shaft, is it facing front to back and not side to side ?
