    Part I.D.

After I removed the cowling from my 1997 EFI 150, I saw this laying in the bottom front portion of the lower half of the motor cover.
My outboard number is 0G508578. I have looked all over the motor and can't figure out what it is and where it goes.
Any thoughts on what this is and where it goes?

Cowling drain- goes in the back through the adapter plate to drain water OUT, but prevent water from gushing up/into the cowling.

We have a Winner! Thank you so much, it is dark down there and I didn't notice the hole and that
there is a second one on the other side. I cleaned the area, applied some caulking and it's good as new.
    Thanks again!
