Add a leaf or helper spring

Anybody ever added an add-a-leaf to a trailer?

Single axle under a ranger rb190. Boat is 19'10". Tandem was not an option on this boat, but probably should have been.

I tow it to the coast several times a year. New Orleans has some terrible roads. On the worst of the bumps, occasionally the trailer tires rub the inside of the wheel well.

Trailer is only about a year old, so the factory springs are not wore out..... just slightly insufficient.

Don't know where you are here in OK,but look up Tulsa Auto Spring.I broke the bottom leaf on the right side of a single axle trailer once(4 leaf) and the price for the 4 leaf and the 5 leaf was the same,so I got the 5 leaf for both sides. World of difference and your tires will never rub again.

Replacing the springs on these trailers is usually straightforward. You should be able to remove a spring to get an accurate measurement of the bolt spacing and then buy a pair with higher capacity from a variety of sources (Tractor Supply, etc.).
