Back in February we had a fundraiser in the office that benefited the Special Olympics of Minnesota via a Polar Plunge. I offered up a custom rod and reel combo along with a trip out on a local lake to chase crappies this spring. The guy with the winning bid has fished with me before and wanted to get a nice rod combo. We picked out the blank color, thread colors, accent pieces, and I got to work. Mudhole MHX 842 in silver with a custom turned acrylic handle, Fuji VSS reel seat with the KSKSS hidden hood and acrylic cover. Went with white nylon thread with blue accents for the guide wraps. Did a half dragon in the grip area with an iridescent mylar film and some deco thread trim. Lot of work went into this one and I love the way it turned out.
And of course the Helper Kitty, Shade, had to join the fun during the photo session.
