It's whiskey week at a local bar. People wait inline to get in. I had an oz. of King of Kentucky yesterday. Only $22. Today was Van winkle 10 and 12.

I've been working on a bottle of Woodford Reserve Double Oak
    Great bottle for the Price

But I tend to like Double Oaks
The Jim Bean Double Oak for 16 bucks is good
And Markers Mark 46 is better then the regular

I myself was not impressed with the Van Winkle 12, It was good (And I still have a 2nd bottle)
But Price wise, not worth the trouble.

What is the size of the pour? At that price it must be for a minor sip?

The enthusiast is a decent line-up for my tastes but I wouldn't order the apprentice and I guess I could find 4 off the exploratory list

Is that what you pay for these? If so thats crazy. Blantons and Taylor are $100 here. Eagle rare and mckenna are 70 plus if you can find them

That's for a pour of each, I believe (pick any 4 from the list). Not for a bottle

My bourbon buddy had exactly the same review. Over hyped Van Winkle line but their top shelf stuff is good. Not thousands-of-dollars per bottle good but still pretty darn tasty

Here's a private tasting line-up that my bourbon buddy attended recently. He wasn't disappointed at all but he did need a ride home.

This should be correct. I have also seen where it's not even a full 2oz pour for these flights.

Bourbon still overpriced and overhyped. Make friends with those that have the disease and get your tasting for free. Humblebrag - one of my buddies busted out some PVW 23 and it wasn't worth anywhere close to what he paid for it. I'll gladly take a JDSBBP for $68 and no allocation issues.

I'm sipping on some little book right now. I would rank it highly.

For the 30, EH Talyor is the Best in that group. The 40, I've had good bottle of Eagle Rare and the Woodford Double Oak is crazy good. But the Eagle rare is double the cost. For Blantons these days, It just over priced for what it is
