    Power Pole Stuck Down

    Well it finally happened......

One of my power poles would not raise. I switched boards and it still would not raise. I thought OOOH SH*T, it may be a pump. Thankfully I was in 2-3 feet of very calm water, and I finally was able to get a rope and ratchet strap around the pole and pull it up and strap it..... BUT I need to sit on the motor and it was HARD as HELL. If the water was deeper and or rougher I would NOT have been able to do it.

I have heard if this happens you can drive the boat forward until you get in shallow water, but I was already in shallow water and the boat would just spin.

I now keep 2 wrench's that fit the hoses on the pumps. The hose closest to the yellow fill cap is the line that is for retracing the pole. If that line is disconnected it should release the pressure and make pulling the pole up much easier. Hopefully I will never need them.

I honestly don't know what the procedure for lifting a pole if the pump goes out. I need to look into that.
