Wacky rig: what hooks are y’all using

I seen at Bass Resource several guys like the VMC Neco in sizes 1, 1/0 or 2

What hooks are y’all using and why?

    Source

I’m going to be using/trying the VMC wacky rings with what ever hooks I end up getting.

That’s what I use in a size 1. I have tried the wide gap ones that are supposed to be for wacky rigs and for some reason I seem to lose more fish on those.

VMC weedless neko either 1/0 or size 1 just depends on the size of the worm.

Can you elaborate a little more as to what size hook for what size worm? Are you using rings to keep worms lasting longer?

VMC Neko size 1 or 2 for me. I used the Gamakatsu 1/0 drop shot hook but just like the neko style a little more.

For Senko. Haven’t found one better than the old Reaction Innovation WW But they quit making them 20 years ago. I make my own. Gamakatsu open eye shiner hook. 60 lb Flouro for weed guard.

I usually wacky rig with a missile baits 48 and I usually throw a size one for that. I’ll step up to the 1/0 if I’m Neko rigging in open water. I use the VMC crossover rings.

Owner Wacky Hook in a 2/0 and sometimes, but rarely the weedless version in the same size. Never lost a fish once hooked, never any broken hooks and super sharp !

Same but I usually use 1/0 which is the size I use for Neko too. Definitely land more fish with the VMC.

I'm following this myself. I just picked up some VMC size 1 & 2 Neko Wacky hooks, as well as their crossover pliers and some rings. It will be a little while yet before I can get out, but I sure am getting antsy!!!

Same here. I just need some hooks now. Boat is down so I may end up beating the banks on foot.
