Run a 300r yet??
Run a 300r yet??
According to Jaco's I'll have mine next Friday but , I'm not holding my breath.
Moved up 2 weeks.....
When did you order? I have one on order with Jaco’s That is due in Sept.
I know what Mercury is saying on delivery dates...and I know what is happening...two different things...moved back two weeks sounds about right...and it would not surprise me if it's not moved then also. Some have not received motors that were ordered in May. Good for Mercury...not so good for us.
There's a long thread on snf where one was run on a 21' liberator. It was faster than a 300xs on the same boat by a few mph.
He reported 100-101 with a 300xs, 103 with the 300r and max5 prop, 105.5 with the 300r and merc cnc 5 blade cleaver. He also ran 111 with a 400r.
Ther learned the same thing I found about the hd sportmaster. The large diameter has a lot of drag so you have to run it high to get it out of the water. They moved the water inlet down and back so you can run it very high. However, you still need blade area, you a 5 blade is pretty much required to get the slip down.
Turn up the volume and hang on!
Is that the only sport master available on the 300r?
Thanks
I don't think you can get the old 3.0 sm on the 300r, but I do believe you get a faster more reliable package with the HD SM

Was just told that 9/1 Mercury is raising the price on motors even if pre ordered and not delivered by then.
They are ,I was informed Friday I would be paying more for the one I bought early July and paid in full at that time and still do not know when I will get it!
