What are your thoughts on the 20 HP Pro Elite? I had a 2010 21 HP Elite but I'm not familiar with this particular model. It looks very similar to the one I had.

I'm not familiar with that hull, looks very similar to the setup of the other 20 and 21' Triton's. Seems to have the best electronic package of the ones you have posted. Obviously the seats need attention as noted in the ad. Appears to be at least the 3rd rendition to the electronic package, look to the right of the right of the helm screen, there is a rigging hole plus mounting/ screw hole from a previous setup. He says mid 80s, mid 80s is 84-86 to me. I don't know enough to dispute it.

Ask for the same maintenance details and pictures discussed and posted previously.

For all the boats I've posted here, shockingly, I have yet to receive a response from any of them. I did receive a response from the guy who is selling this boat. It was his dad's boat and he doesn't know how many hours, says it's probably low. Never had a compression test on the motor. No damage and everything is in great condition. What are y'alls thoughts? It's about a 6 hour drive so I hate to drive that far just to look.

My initial thought is it may be slightly under powered with a 225. That is the same as mine, mine runs strong with the 250, not sure it would be the same boat and ride with less hp. Looks like it has potential to be somewhat of a project before you get to use it without issues. Not sure I'd ride 6 hours to find all that out for that listed price.

Not sure what your budget is, but there is a seriously nice Gambler on Charlotte, NC C'list. I'd be all over it if I didn't have my Triton and took all the time, effort and money to sort it out.

    I wouldn't buy that boat with a 225 on it, needs a 250.

I like this one and it's a little closer to me. I wasn't sure about the motor. Is this XS better than the ProXS?

More Powerful than the Pro XS, The 250 XS and the 250 XB are the most powerful factory production 250s ever built, only drawback is they require premium fuel.

This one that I mentioned I had planned to go look at today, however, I wanted to see what y'all thought. The guy said the motor lost a cylinder and he had them all fixed. He also mentioned that since he's retired he hasn't ran the boat in three years, it's been sitting in the garage. What are your thoughts about this? Obviously I will have to get a compression test done.

I went and looked at the one I mentioned above with the Mercury 250hp XS on it. It has a 4-blade prop with a 6" hydraulic jack plate on it, so I don't think it's the proper setup, but that's just me. The owner will have a compression test and printout of the motor this week. The boat is overall in good condition for it to be a 2006. There is some slight oxidation on the top cap in the poly, but it's not too bad; I think it'll buff out. The carpet and seats will need replacing. The dash is a touchpad, and everything but one pump worked; the owner said it was probably a fuse, but he hasn't checked it. One gauge didn't want to stay in the hole in the dash; the other gauges could be replaced too due to sun damage. The electronics are dated and essentially useless. It has an old Motorguide 24V Tour Edition 82lb thrust TM. There is some minor fiberglass damage to one of the fenders, where the owner said he got too close to a landing and went off the side of the landing, which damaged it slightly when he pulled it back up the ramp. Obviously, being a 2006 with a black bottom, there are several scratches, but none that are deep, all appear to be surface scratches. The battery compartment had some oil residue but appeared to be mostly clean and neat.

This boat is a 2006 Triton TR21-X. Is there a big difference between the TR21-X and the TR21-X HP?

I wanted to get your thoughts on this boat? I believe I can get it for around $17k. I'm going to wait on the compression test and printout on the motor before offering anything but I feel confident about getting it for $17k.

Inspect the trailer the same as you would the boat. The wiring and mechanical items will tell the story, not the glossy hull, detailed seats and tires.
This is wisdom. I purchased a boat and assumed the trailer was in good order, it looked like new. Wrong, it had sit unused and the brake actuator had been dry of brake fluid, all the seals were shot and it had no brakes. I didn't know that because I test drove the boat but didn't pull the trailer. The saying "buyer beware" is for good reason. XXXLTRP is also right about looking at the stuff that is not obvious. Most people will clean the obvious stuff, the more hidden areas will tell if the boat was really taken care of well or not. Also it can be easy to cover up for a short time a bad gel coat finish. Some of the products that we have now will make any surface shine, but just for a while. It the gel coat feels greasy or is rough I don't care how shiny it is there is a problem.

That's good information as well. The owner told me he just had the top coat wet sanded to remove some minor oxidation. I'm hoping it's smooth and in good condition. He also said he upgraded the trailer to a much newer model. I had some concerns about this because they stopped making that hull in 2008 so anything newer wasn't technically designed for that hull so I'm not sure what to think about that.
