Alabama guy here, thinking of a Wisconsin trip next spring….smallmouth with some walleye/pike mixed in, 2 days

April is still a gamble, especially if coming from far away, but any later and you start to run into much heavier pressure on the fish as the two big tournaments approach in mid-May.
Dress warm.

Big fish...early to mid-may. Numbers Memorial Day to mid-June.

One other thing is that there are different type of boats that the top guides use. Some use deep v walleye style boats while others have traditional bass boats. One even uses a 24 ft center console. Just depends on how much your willing to put up with in big water.

I fished out of that 24ft center console a few years ago in October and thanked God we had it the day we went out!!!!
