For those of you that have run your motor into the RPM range where the subject control takes place, what are you seeing, feeling, hearing, smelling, etc.?

I haven't ran my 4.2 SHO to the rev limit, but my previous rig had an F150 that I hit the limit on a few times. Nothing dramatic occurred, It lost a bit of power and rpms dropped. I suspect the ECM dropped out a cylinder or two.

Thanks.
In another forum a guy said it could not be noticed. I suspect he was talking about a motor that uses an electronic throttle valve to limit RPMs versus a model that misfires cylinders.
